Dear Joseph Henisch,

It comes with deepest regret to inform you that our dear friend (Eduard Keller) has passed away. Eduard’s last days were spent in a hospice with poetry read in comfort and company by myself. Please understand that I did not inform you earlier, as his closest friend, I did not want to cause bother for my teacher.
Eduard’s teaching of piano was unique, but through all the years of his lessons, teachings and techniques I have only overheard my piano teacher play once, sometime ago. Recognising that Eduard shared his musical virtuoso with others as prominent as Hitler, saddens me that the maestro could not endure his talent. His ability to fascinate others through ...

he was unable to speak of it, trying to suppress the memories. Eduard had started to reveal certain recollections pending his life in Vienna, before we concluded my piano teachings, telling me information such as his times playing for Hitler and occasions with his wife and son. I can only image what it must have been like playing for Hitler, the fear the apprehension going in to play for a man who caused so much heart ache to people around the world and personally to Keller.
Overall it’s a shame that Eduard did not become the composer that he wanted to become. if there is any information linking to Keller, his music or even his past please don’t hesitate to make contact with me. I am interested in writing a biography on this remarkable man, who is personally a man who has helped me mature over the years. Once again I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it was his wish to have me to let you know. Please if there is anything you would like to know about his last years, ...
