It is estimated that each year in the U.S., tens of thousands of young, healthy greyhounds bred for racing are killed when they fail to keep up and are no longer viable racers. There are also numerous cases where dogs are sold to research facilities for experimentation – often without the permission of their owners.
Organizations dedicated to saving Greyhounds place these animals into responsible, loving homes. By adopting a retired racing greyhound, you can save another of these wonderful dogs from being destroyed.
