Marijuana

In today's society, marijuana is being illegally used and abused by thousands of Americans. The ages range from students in the eighth grade through adulthood. This misuse of marijuana is presenting a clear and present danger to the public safety of others.
Marijuana is a drug made up of dried, shredded leaves, stems, seed and flowers of the hemp plant. It can be characterized by its green, brown, and grey mixture, and has a distinctive smell of burning leaves. Marijuana has many street names, including pot, weed, and maryjane.

First, there would be substantial income tax revenue coming from these legal workers. Secondly, an economic boost would come from the government increasing its revenue by putting a high tax on purchasing marijuana. In addition to these imposed taxes, there would be increases to the economy. The hemp plant being used has several uses including paper and cardboard being used in products, clothing and fabrics, and fuel. Hemp grows in months versus the years it takes for trees to grow. It can be recycled up to seven times versus the maximum of three times wood pulp paper can. Hemp paper doesn't need to be bleached. Making hemp white can be done using hydrogen peroxide, which is much safer for water and soil of the earth. Hemp is good for the environment because it would use very little pesticide and no herbicides to grow. Hemp would be a good material to use for making clothing and fabrics.
