I stand there with my heels sinking so low into the ground I could not feel. I knew people were all around me: cursing, praying, and crying but that did not matter to me. I look, and he looks back. His eyes so caved in and blood shot. Sweat dripping all over his body and into his numerous open wombs. I felt helpless. With every step he struggled in taking it pained me, it pained me so much.
All I could think of was the words he told me. They kept replaying in my mind like they had before. With every whip that a solider gave him, he did not once hit him back.
