The film Metropolis (1927) relates to New York, as it emphasizes this division between the upper and lower classes of the city. It is fascination how almost a century has passed, and the movie grows to become more realistic to our current modern-day society. A New Yorker would relate to this film, as the film incorporates a lot of ideas of Marxism. Marxism emphasizes how this division between the upper and lower class leads to a wider gap in society, and eventually destruction due to how unbalanced it becomes.
