The internationally connected modern world is a result of migration. People migrate for many reasons, mainly regarding economics, politics, natural disasters and climate. Today, immigration is controlled by governments through the use of physical structures, patrol units, and special documentation. Unwanted persons and commodities such as persons without legitimate documents, narcotics, smuggled goods and agricultural pests are denied entry to countries.
