Goodman Brown”, “It was strange to see that the good shrank not from the wicked, nor were the sinners abashed by the saints(“Brown”,120). During the time of the Puritans, many people were being judged for many reasons, one being that if they believed in other sorority than God, there was a harsh punishment. Judgment is not only wrong but people deserve to be given the choice of the religion.
The Puritans and their religious values; beliefs became a big similarity that shows how the beliefs are represented in “Young Goodman Brown” and “The Ministers Black Veil”. “Life was hard, but in this stern and unforgiving place they were free to worship as they chose”(“God In America” para. 3).
