Missed Opportunities In Hamlet

In the story Hamlet, Hamlet’s feelings towards other people changes after his father’s death. Hamlet learns how his father was killed and why. Hamlet had many opportunities to get his revenge but never could convince himself to follow through with his plans. In Hamlet, William Shakespeare uses Hamlet’s relationship with Claudius to criticize he is a man of inaction.
“I’ll wipe away all trivial fond records, all saws of books, all forms, all pressures past that youth and observation copies there, and thy commandment all alone shall live within the book and volume in my brain, unmixed with baser matter. was created by Hamlet to make Claudius feel guilty for killing King Hamlet so that he could become king. “The play’s the thing wherein I’ll catch the conscience of the King” (2.2.621-622). Hamlet is going to use the play to try and make Claudius feel guilty about killing King Hamlet just so he could become King. This works because half way through the play Claudius gets up out of his seat and leaves the play.
Hamlet could have killed Claudius while he was praying. “Now might I do it pat, now he is praying; and no I’ll do’t” (3.3.73-74). Hamlet decides against killing him while he is praying because he doesn’t want Claudius to go to heaven when he kills him. Hamlet once again fails to kill Claudius.
