There are two main political powers discussed, the Byzantine Empire and the Sassanid Empire. These two successful empires are separated by there religious beliefs. The Byzantine people are followers of Orthodox Christianity and the Sassanid people are followers of the Zoroastrians Orthodoxy. There are many religious Orthodox such as Judaism, Christianity, and Manichaeism. The main religion throughout the Middle East is Islam. In the Byzantine Empire time period, they had one of the most power military, economic, and culture developments. The Sassanid Empire is very well known around the Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, and Syria counties.
