My Freshman Experience At The University Of Alabama



On a day-to-day basis I carry a lot of "baggage." Some days I carry the same "baggage" others I carry smaller load of worries and concerns. There are several issues I brought from home to the University of Alabama. Some issues I deal with everyday while others I am not confronted with as often. Most of this baggage has affected the way my college experience has begun. Being away from my family, meeting new people, and making good grades are all issues that have made my college experience harder to adjust to.

Another issue that has effected my college experience is meeting new people. Meeting new people is usually something that I never have a problem of doing. Since I have been here I have felt intimidated by people and not as comfortable around them as I usually do. The idea that I am at college and around older people has a lot to do with it. But I still think that I have meet more people that I have ever known in my life while being in Alabama. Going through Rush for example was a very intimidating, but I met so many girls. So far I have met some really great friends that have helped me get adjusted. I was worried that it was going to be hard at first, but then I realized no one else knew anyone either and we all felt the same way.
