I am doing an . This school ranges from kindergarten through fourth grade. I choose a kindergarten class to observe. This grade is Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The class consists of 18 students. My sessions are on Thursday and Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m
Mrs. Kahn is the teacher. She works on a co-teacher system in which she and Mrs. Nelson combine classes once or twice a week. This combination teaching takes place when there is an activities day taking place or a trip involved.

which are solitary play, onlooker play, parallel play, associative play and cooperative play (Craig and Kermis). In my observations of Kayla she fits all these levels of play. For example, in observation #7, I was able to watch Kayla interact with other children for two hours of play on an activity day called "Apple Day". She interacted with several children at different times. They all seem to get along with her very well. She even played by herself pretending to be a puppy. In observation # 10 Kayla was supposed to be molding a ship (Columbus Day) and instead she had a circle shape and was pretending it was a cookie. Then she pushed a hole in it and called it a donut. I asked her to please make a ship first and if we had time we can make extra stuff. She had no problem with the offer - she made her ship first.
