Even though Odysseus in Homer’s epic poem The Odyssey makes some mistakes and misjudges a few situations, he should be awarded a hero’s welcome.
Odysseus displays ingenuity when he wanders into the Cyclops cave he realizes he cannot kill the beast or they will be trapped. Another way Odysseus shows ingenuity happens when he hides his men under the sheep to escape the Cyclops cave. After he proves his cleverness in the Cyclops cave Odysseus displays it once again when he plugs his men’s ears with beeswax and ties himself to the mast when they are passing the sirens.
