Society is based on rules. Without rules society would not be civil. These rules, some written (laws), most assumed, control the way we live our lives. Any rule or law will bring those who question or disobey these norms of society. How can we judge these people? Depending on the severity of their social disobedience, offenders of the law usually end up in jail. However, what if the act in question is not a broken law, one of the many written rules, but a simple act against the system? These people who swim against the tide, so to speak, are in many cases thought to be troublesome crazed individuals. There are those people in our society that do as they please when it comes to the unwritten rules of the world. They are decent folks who obey laws that doctrine civilized behavior, but they do so in their own unique way, which makes them seem uncivil to the rest of society. Perhaps they do not wear their shoes to dinner, or in more extreme cases know how to act in certain social situations, such as Billy who does not know how to express his feelings, or more precisely does not express his feelings the same way as you and I. This is the true nature the non-conformist they are not ignorant or wrong just different.
I believe that there needs to be laws and rules of society. Men need some sort of system to live by, however, I do not agree that types of unique behavior or outlandish ideas need to be stifled. Without those ...
