Upon attending the play Oresteia, I was a little apprehensive before entering the theatre about whether I would enjoy the play or not. I had never been to a play before then, and was not sure of what to expect. However, the play turned out to be very well put together and extremely interesting to me. I would sincerely consider attending more in the future after attending this viewing of Oresteia.

palace to seek revenge on his mother for the murder of his father. Orestes, his sister Electra, and his good friend Pylades all go on a tirade and kill Clytemnestra and then her father comes and seeks justice on Orestes. Menelaus, Agamemnon’s brother does not take the side of his nephew but the side of his father-in-law so Orestes decides to seek revenge on Menelaus. He tries to kill Helen, Menelaus’ wife, but the God’s take her away before she can be killed. Orestes, Electra, and Pylades all decide that they will not be set free by the people so they decide to go out fighting. They set fire to the palace and while all this is going on Orestes finds Menelaus’ daughter, Hermione, and kills her to get revenge on his Uncle.
This play was a very confusing and blood soaked one. It was extremely fast paced and hard to follow but as I said before I believe I got the main idea of it. Interesting play along with great acting made the trip well worth ...
