abiding citizens will turn in their guns. Outlaws however, will continue to break the law by keeping their guns. Criminals who use guns for crime are not law abiding, so they would not be affected by a gun ban. Ninety five percent of the guns used to commit crimes are in fact unregistered weapons. This proves the point that criminals have and always will find ways to get guns.

A sixty eight year old auto salesman and Korean War veteran Jappy J. Dickson had just gotten out of his car at a restaurant when an armed man approached him and said “give me your money or I’ll blow your head off”. Feigning compliance, Dickson instead reached for the .38 cal revolver (for which he had a carry permit), saying “Are you sure you want to go through with this?”. With that the cowardly assailant fled. What would have happened if Jappy J. Dickson didn’t have his gun?
