being hurt. Men have been able to rule women’s lives since the dawn of time, and no matter how much we like to believe things have changed, there is always more evidence proving us wrong. Women should be proud of their appearances and whom they are, inside and out.
In “Fashion and Beauty” the issue of how a women is viewed by the public is such a large concern of magazine editors. It began with just high fashion magazines targeted at sophisticated, upper class women, but as time progressed many magazines began writing article for housewives as well. Offering tips on make up, clear skin, hair advise and perfumes, these article gave women budget friendly advise on how to be beautiful (193).
