this period of time, the image and impression of Satan and demons were also alleged to be beginning to form and take shape, creating fear and terror in the hearts of the societies. Additionally, the community assumed that these people were not just ordinary witches, but Satanic witches who had countless special powers and abilities and would fly to nocturnal meetings know as the Witches' Sabbath where they would take part in sexual intercourse with demons. The public understood these people were easily vulnerable to the Devil's temptations and were becoming deceived and corrupted by the Anti-Christ.
The second most important reason was the society's reactions to the difficult times. All throughout Europe, plagues, wars, and natural disasters would arrive unexpectedly and cause great devastation to the civilizations.
