Religious Beliefs-

Freedom of religion is a fundamental right in Peru’s culture, although Catholicism is the main religion, another legacy of the Spanish. It plays a significant role in Peru’s culture and society Religious festivals have strong Spanish influence, but they are also an example of how different beliefs and religions of Peru's pre-Hispanic cultures coexist.

Communication-

Apart from the first official language that is Spanish, the other two languages are very rich in their origin and due to the fact that they have many dialects as well. Quechua is more widely spoken than Aymara language.

Space-

Hispanics view sense of space differently than American culture. Personal space for Americans is at least arms length while it is less than an arm’s length distance for Hispanics. While greetings for Americans are usually a firm handshake a greeting in Hispanic culture is often a less firm handshake, hug, or a kiss on the cheek.

Health beliefs- Herbalism, Traditional Birth Attendance, and Bone Setting

Many Peruvians share a belief that illness is due to factors beyond individual control. This is a major reason that prevention and health promotion are not highly valued. Helping to bridge the knowledge gap by explaining the connection between lifestyle choices and physical ailments and disease can be very empowering to patients.

Health is very strongly equated with an absence of pain, and illness with presence of pain. Illnesses that do not cause pain often go undiagnosed and un/under treated
