It was a gloomy November day and my team mates and I were getting ready to go to battle that day against our cross town rivals, the Glendale Nitros. We had been working so very hard the past nine weeks but had not come out with a victory. But to win just this one game it would make our season, after all it was our homecoming game.
As I got into my car, my watch read 7:53 and I had to pick up Thomas at his house at 7:55 to go to school. When I arrived at his house he looked at me in a harsh way. We drove almost half way then Thomas started to speak out.
“Hey man I can’t believe it today is the day, today is the day we will get our first victory of the season”.

Glendale game tonight.
Later that morning Thomas and I meet up with the rest of the guys from the team, they were all as nervous as we were. Knowing that there was a lot riding on this game, and for some it was even more important because it was the last game of the year. It was their last chance to show the scouts what kind of talent they had.
As always we would have no class that day and there would be one big pep rally which the entire student body will attend to celebrate BGD, which stands for Beat Glendale Day.
As a tradition our coach called every single players name during the pep rally, and the applause and cheers were more for some people than others, Thomas and I got the most applause, being the big men on campus.
