Pyramids from 1000ā€™s of years ago stand the test of time and still to this day are some of the largest things that humans have ever built even though they were built thousands of years before modern technology. Although both are classified as pyramids the mayan and egyptian similarities end there, but they have many differences in their purpose, construction, and age.
The main difference between the two is their purpose: the main purpose of the mayan pyramids were for astronomy, and religion as stated in source 3 (travel guide). Another difference between the 2 is age although the egyptian pyramids are much taller. It is crazy to think about the fact that they have been around for about twice as long as the mayan pyramids. The egyptian pyramids were made in about 2400 B.C. and the mayan ones have been around since about 900 A.D. Even though the Egyptians didnā€™t have the technology they still have the bigger pyramids.
