The world of parole officers is filled with career bureaucrats who are overwhelmed, under paid and apathetic. I will not be one of them. I am returning to grad school after getting a taste of the real world because I know that the assisting parolees in the transition from incarceration to a successful life takes more than a degree, and an office to store paper. It takes commitment to the job and commitment to the clients I will serve, and the personal desire to teach them how to make their world better.
