The costumes of Juliet show how she is pure visually. Juliet presents a lot of purity and this is further expressed through her white based costumes.

In most scenes of the film, Juliet is seen surrounded by religious icons which bind her to her purity. Religious icons are sacred images which people choose to believe in or relate to a God. During the film, Juliet is usually surrounded by the Virgin Mary or angels. The Virgin Mary is the symbolism of faithfulness, tranquillity, purity and virginity. This is reflected upon her because of how she displays these qualities in the film. Often Juliet is seen to be very calm and collected throughout the chaos of Verona and the people in it.
