Sammy Sosa Vs. Mark McGwire

There are many athletes in baseball today, but two names everyone knows are Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa. McGwire, known to most as "Big Mac" and Sosa, known to most as "Slammin' Sammy" are great athletes who share a part of baseball history. Both are good hitters but they are also different hitters. They are both good players on the field, yet off the field they are also charitable people. McGwire and Sosa have many similarities and many differences.
It is hard to compare Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa's statistics because they have not been in the league the same amount of time. The only way to evaluate and compare these two men is to wait until they have both retired from baseball. ...

The numbers of hits that McGwire and Sosa have have been pretty close to the number they should have in this point of their careers. McGwire has 1,388 hits in 1,576 games and Sosa has 1,280 hits in 1,289 games. If Sosa were in the league the same amount of time that McGwire has been, Sosa would have probably had more hits. Sosa has only played in 1,289 games as where McGwire has only played in 1,576 games. Sosa has a 99 percent chance of getting a hit each game, however McGwire has only an 88 percent chance of getting a hit each game.
The amount of their RBI's (Runs Batted In) is a totally different story. McGwire has 1,162 RBI's in his 13-year career, while Sosa has 832 RBI's in his 10-year career. McGwire has struck out only 1,294 times in 5,267 at bats, but Sosa has struck out only 1,244 times in 4,832 at bats. They have both struck out more then they got walked. McGwire has walked 1,089 times and Sosa has walked only 371 times.
