the reader’s attention and interest. I believe her writing strategy is used to emphasize her thesis. Leavy’s thesis is all about hard-work and determination. Sandy Koufax is a perfect example of this. Leavy likes to remind the reader the success a person can have with hard-work, even a person with as many setbacks as a man like Sandy Koufax.
