William Shakespeare’s Cymbeline was a book of many morals, one of the many was “Arrogance hurts not only yourself but those around you” this point was raised in many scenes, using many characters. Characters such as the Queen, Cloten, Iachimo and The King (Cymbeline). And scenes such as the one in rome at Philarimus’ house when Posthumus and Iachimo make the bet which sets the whole play into motion, or the scene when Cloten decides to go out and rape imogen, which results in his death. So sit back and relax as I deeper explore these characters and scenes….

Cloten-The Queens son, he’s a character you kinda feel sorry for, because he probably wasn’t arrogant by choice, he probably inherited it from his mother. Cloten was the simple minded son of the Queen who wanted to marry Imogen, (though I am not sure if he was in on the plot to kill the king, I think that was one of mother’s little surprises) and he would do anything to get her. Including hiring a band of musicians to play a song for her, dueling with Posthumus, and in the end venturing out to rape her. But cloten’s arrogance, like his mother’s, got him killed, while seeking out Imogen, he ran into Guiverious, who chopped off his head.
Iachimo-One of Posthumus’ Roman friends, Iachimo is’nt quite an evil character, more childish than anything, and extremely arrogant. Iachimo was at Philario’s house when posthumus showed up after getting banished from britain By Cymbeline. ...
