On January 24, 2011, Constable Michael Sanguinetti of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police spoke at a law school in Toronto and said "women should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimized" (Rush, 2011). Whether or not the comment was just poorly worded concern or legitimate insensitivity has become irrelevant next to the results of the now-famous speech; the SlutWalks. Only a few months after Sanguinetti's presentation, on April 3[rd], 2011, over 3000 people gathered at Queen's Park, in Toronto.
