by David Guterson is a novel dependent on settings as a strong base for the story. As the novel unfolds, we see the changing of the weather, as well as the times in which it was set and the people surrounding the town of San Piedro. These aspects play an important roll in helping the reader understand the reactions and developments of the novel.
The weather played a prominent roll, depicting the developments of the trial and making a parallel through it's turmoil.
