Specific Purpose: To inform my audience the differences in the level of play of soccer between the United States and Europe.

Central Idea: To inform my audience about the differences of the United States' and Europe's structure of the leagues, playing styles, and player development.

In America there are about 24 million people who play soccer, which is just about the same as all of Europe, yet us Americans still are a lot worse than the Europeans. European countries like Germany, England, France, ...

author of article, "Differences and Similarities between American and European Soccer," In America there is one league called the MLS. (Major League Soccer) and in Europe there are several different leagues like the EPL, Bundes Liga, La Liga, and Serie A.

The MLS season goes from mid-March to November while the European leagues go from August to May.

In the MLS each team is a part of a certain region or conference and each winner from the conference move on to the playoff round. One final match determines the champion of MLS.

In Europe each league is won by what ever team has the best record at the end of the season.

Through out Europe's Leagues and seasons there are small and large tournaments where you normally play teams that are not in your current league. The biggest European tournament is called the UEFA Champions League. This crowns the best team in all of Europe.
