I am an Egyptian Student who lived out side Egypt for most my life. When I was accepted at the AUC I had to leave my family outside Egypt and live on my own in Cairo. The first few weeks were difficult for me but I had to coupe with the situation and go on. I can feel that my personality and inner feeling have been positively affected.
Since I live in a hostel of the church my physical means of living haven’t been seriously affected. Though I don’t eat for example what I ask for. I had a problem in transportation. I have to rely more on public transportation like the metro or taxies which I wasn’t used to.

either good or bad. In the University I still haven’t made any trustable friends and there was no one who could listen to me.
I had no thoughts or imagination for my future however now I have a dream that I am trying to accomplish. I am now more responsible for myself and I am able to manage my needs more efficiently. My father used to arrange every thing to me for example arranging with private tutors but now I arrange every thing by myself. However responsibility to me is an extra burden that I have to take care of in my everyday life, as time passes you become used to it. I also now think of myself as mature and more able to make decision on my own. Before I had to think a lot and to take my father’s permission; as an example I used to hesitate when I was asked by a friend to go have lunch and a cinema visit however now I am able to decide quickly.
I am also now able to deal with different types of people. I have seen various types of people; sellers for example some are liars ...
