Many individuals are not the same person they were when they were twenty years old. Hopefully they have changed and evolved into better thinkers and decision makers. As most people mature in life they begin to think in a different manner. Certain situations occur that make them look at things differently. This is where many teachers are finding themselves. At times many teachers look at teaching situations through rose colored glasses. They believe they are going to change their student’s lives. Teachers are responsible for creating safe, judgment free, and real life teaching surroundings. The classroom should be a safe haven for all students to learn and be successful in. It is teachers’ responsibility to teach his or her students with direct and explicit instruction. This teacher research believes it is her obligation to make sure that all students’ needs are being met. This may be through intervention programs, small group tutoring and most importantly keeping in close contact with parents.
Parent are inarguable the most important model in their child’s life. Parents must be more involved than transporting their student to and from school.
