There are many reasons as to why the act should not be repealed, with specific emphasis regarding its benefit for American citizens. Health care is important for many reasons, including the fact that proper health care provides individuals with more opportunity for a longer, more productive life. Under the new act, there are still individuals that cannot afford the insurance. Therefore, government subsidies have been made available to make the insurance more affordable for these individuals. As well, the act was made on the principle that by having a greater population pay for variable portions of their insurance, the systematic cost of health care would decrease for the entire population. Republicans have criticized Obamacare as an intrusion into the private lives of individuals, and launched a legal challenge opposing it.
