part in the novel, it made some things make sense. Her crying at first, bought about signs that something was wrong and mistaken. Now it all makes perfect sense. It is irony involved now. Mr Pontellier loves and adores his wife while she, on the other hand, does not want to be with him. In this and any other instance for that matter, anything involving an accident does not end up turning out very good. I honestly feel sorry for her husband because she did not want to meet him. She had something else going on, on the side, so she was content with life at that moment. The last part of this quote reminds me of something we talked about in Sabbath School one weekend. We discussed how a woman can not court a man because her emotions of love for a man could and probably would change, but a man; if he really loved her he would continue to chase after her until he won her over. Sadly that is what happened in this story.

away from her husband, but those voices (as in voices of people) are disapproving, and she is afraid of what people may think of her. It kind of reminds me of a decision I have to get ready to make now. Where will I go to college? Because of my religious background, many people want me to go to one of our colleges or universities, but really do not want to. Some people will be mad at my decision no doubt about it. But in the end it all comes down to me. What do I want in life? Do I want to go to one of our schools? These are the kinds of choices she will have to make, but her decision will affect just more than her. Let us not forget that she has children to think about…
