If a person gets pulled over for a traffic violation they should not have to feel threatened by the people sworn to protect the citizens of this country. More and more everyday police are using excessive force towards suspects and actual criminals. People often think that when police brutality happens it is the suspects fault for not cooperating or that the suspect provoked the excessive force used against them, but most of the time the real cause of the brutality comes from some problem the officer might have towards the suspect. affected by police brutality is the story of Juanita Young. She and her family were swarmed and attacked in her back yard by the police when her son was being arrested. Juanita is a legally blind grandmother who did not commit any crime but still was treated like she had done something horrendous. Ever since that day the police arrested her son she has been fighting with groups to get rid of dirty cops and police brutality (New York Amsterdam News).
Many organizations have been formed to stop this madness our police officers are bringing to the streets of our communities. According to research one of the biggest causes of excessive police force on citizens is race.
