That was supposedly engraved on the Tomb of King Tutankhamen’s, or
King Tut as most of you know.
The King was only nineteen when he died. People say that he was
murdered by his enemies.
The ancient Egyptians thought of their Kings as Gods and worshipped
them. So when their Kings would die they had a process of burial that they
had done. The Ancient Egyptians would first preserve their King’s bodies
by embalming them, and taking out special organs in the King’s body and
placing the organs in special containers that would be buried with them.

man named Howard Carter arrived in Egypt searching for
King Tuts Tomb. But he knew that he could not do it alone. So he found a
wealthy man named Carnarvon. For five years they dug searching for the
young Pharaoh’s Tomb. On November 4th, 1922 Carter’s work men discovered a
step carved into a rock. They found fifteen more leading to an ancient
doorway that appeared to still be sealed. On the doorway was the name
Tutankhamen.2
When Carter arrived home that night his servant met him at the door
and he was said to have yellow feathers in his hand that had come from the
canary that Carnarvon had brought along to lead them to the tomb. Carters
eye’s were large with fear, he said that the Canary had been killed by a
Cobra. Carter told his servant to make sure that the cobra was out of the
house. The servant grabbed Carter and said

“The pharaoh’s serpent ate the bird because it led
us to the hidden tomb! You must not disturb the tomb!”3
