Macbeth is a play written by William Shakespeare, and is about a man becoming a king through the wrong ways. The play starts off with Macbeth as a war hero with expectations to become king. His route for the throne was sliced off when the king’s son was put into a higher position and guaranteed the status of “king”. Macbeth did not appreciate this, so he decided to dig himself in whole so deep that he could not climb out. This sparks his three reasons for his destruction.

Though, they are also not the main reason for his downfall because they warn Macbeth of his destruction, but he doesn’t listen to the three witches and tries to challenge their prophecies. Do to his stubbornness, he is destroyed like the three witches prophesized.
The main reason for Macbeth’s downfall is his ambition. Macbeth was a very ambitious man, and the other two reasons only added fuel to the fire that was all ready there. If he was not ambitious in the first place then he would have never put himself in the deadly position that he was in. Plus, the witches would have never told him what they did, and if they did, it would have meant nothing to him. Not only would the witches have meant nothing to him, but his wife could never have persuaded him into killing the king. ...
