The Epic of Gilgamesh

The epic of Gilgamesh is the oldest legendary fable that has been told to children and read by adults for many years, till now. This is why there are many versions of it. In this class for instance, we are exposed to two of them, to note GILGAMESH: a Verse Narrative by Herbert Mason, and The Ancient Near East I: The Epic of Gilgamesh by James Pritchard, in addition to a comparison of the initiation and the woman in Gilgamesh and Genesis 2-3 by John Bailey. The noticeable fact about the two authors is they used two different perspectives to write the same legend. Gilgamesh wanted to become immortal too –he did not want to suffer and die as his friend Enkidu did-, so he consulted Noah, but failed to be granted.
