In the following essay I will be talking about the importance of Daisy in the novel, Daisy’s importance in the novel will be divided into three categories. The first category will be love, the second will be paradise lost and paradise regained. In the final category will be the American dream. In all of the categories I will be talking about Daisy’s importance to all of these themes, and how her appearance in all of the categories change the outcome of what some people think would have happened.

Daisy just can’t find real love so she dates many men and wishes that someone will decide who she loves for her as the following quotes prove, page 151 "suddenly she again keeping half a dozen dates a day with half a dozen men" and page 151 "She wanted her life shaped now, immediately- and the decision must be made by some force- of love, of money, of unquestionable practicality- that was close at hand.
Paradise lost and paradise regained is the second category. Paradise is lost and regained for many people on this novel and most of them happen because of Daisy and her actions with the other characters in the novel. In the novel paradise is lost for Tom Buchanan when Daisy leaves him , but then Tom regains paradise when Gatsby dies and Daisy comes back to Tom. Paradise is also lost and regained for Gatsby.
