Over Confident or Inspirational?

Brain Doyle writes with the fluidity of a poet and mastered linguistics of a true authorialand proves he is a true linguistic artist in . While I find his essay "The Greatest Nature Story Ever". I found this writing incrediblye inspiring, I could cannot help but feel a slight undertone of over confidence though. It wasis clear in the work that Doyle wasis guiding you through his process of writing, and he very clearly TELLS you, how each line and paragraph would is going to make you feel, had he actually written it. I feel as the more and more I go back to this essay and thumb my way through it, that Doyle is excited as he writes, driven by passion, for not only telling a good story, but also playing with the rules of writing an essay. He stays very true to the structure of an essay but playfully challenges himself simultaneously to start the story with an ellipses, make paragraphs entirely one sentence or question, capitalize words that should not be just to draw attention to them. Doyle very clearly has fun with this essay.
Doyle is not shy, to say the least in this work. He takes control from the very beginning turning the mirror back around on the reader. The writer plainly shows the reader a reflection of themselves if they were to be reading this amazing nature story the author had written by writing things such as well the entire first paragraph (which is one sentence) for instance, ". . .would begin with an image so startling and ...
