The American Dream. Everyone has their own definition of The American Dream. To most people it is succeeding in America, living in a nice neighborhood, having the house they’ve always dreamed of, and not having to steal cars just do get attention. Throughout the entire book, Esperanza and many others were trying to escape Mango Street in order to look for a better place to live.
