A crimson carpet had spread across the veranda which the rented trumpets men stood on, with a few bored blows through the mouthpiece every couple of minutes. Many folk came to admire the grand arrangements and although it was the same old cottage they passed by every morning in through the village, today it mirrored a castle instead. Mr. Howard was sent in to fish out a roll of tape, and the trumpets finally blew when the `castle' was marked by the boundaries in half. Neither party was the cross them, and both Mr. and Mrs. Hopkins would now function as a separate entity forever.

As the cold night came, they both lay on the bed when Mrs. Hopkins discreetly tried to snuggle a hand on Mr. Hopkins side.
