The Last Of The Mohicans: Summary

The book “ The Last of the Mohicans” was originally written by
James Fenimore Cooper in 1826. It was released to movie theaters in 1992,
and was directed by Michael Mann. “ The last of the Mohicans” is an epic
adventure as well as a heart-warming romance portrayed in the wilderness
of the Adirondack region of Colonial New York. This work of historical
fiction was set during the third year of the last war between England and
France over possession of a country that ultimately would belong to
neither party.

The story has many interesting characters. The main character is
Hawkeye (Daniel Day-Lewis), he is a white man adopted by the
Mohican tribe. Hawkeye is madly in love with Cora ...

liking for Duncan, Cora
does not feel the same love for Duncan that he feels for her. Magua is a
member of the Huron tribe and has a great hatred for Colonel Munro, and
has made it is life's mission to kill Munro as well as his children to
wipe out the Colonel's seed forever. Magua is a very seditious man, and is
set on achieving his heinous mission.

The plot begins to unfold when Hawkeye and is family decide to
guide Colonel Munro's two daughters as well as Duncan to Fort William
Henry. They embark on this journey in order to unite with the girl's
father. On there journey they come in contact with the French forces as
well as the French allies. Blood is shed on many occasions. After they
reach the fort, they suffer a defeat to the French forces. They are forced
to flee the fort and return to another British fort in a seemingly
peaceful defeat. On their journey to this fort, the wrath of Magua and his
Huron war party begins to fall upon them. Magua is well on his way ...
