This piece of art depicts The legend of Saint George and the Dragon. The legend is there was a dragon terrorizing a town and the people would give it two sheep a day to prevent it from attacking them. When the two sheep had not worked, they resorted to give it a sheep and someone from the town. The king decided that human sacrifice would be needed. This had gone on until his daughter was selected as a sacrifice. The king tried to find away out of sacrificing his daughter, but the towns people would not agree because they had sacrificed their children. So, the king agreed and sent ...

it. The princess led the dragon to the town and the people were frightened by it. St. George told them not to be afraid of it and to believe in God, Jesus Christ, and to be baptized so he could slay the dragon.

In the end, the king was baptized along with all of his people and St. George killed the dragon and dragged him out of the city
