Everyone has something that in some significant way means something to them. Edvard Munch believed that art had its own significance altogether. Munch was a beautiful and innovative artist, although, his life was not as joyful as many people may think an artists life should be.
Edvard Munch was a very competent man. He was born on November twelfth, 1863. He was born in Loton, Norway. He was the son of Christian and Laura Catherine Munch. Edvard was the second of five children.

Munch rented a studio apartment with six other young artists, in 1882. Their work was supervised by Munch's teacher Christian Krohg. In May of 1885, Munch was awarded a state grant which enabled him to study in Paris. Munch stayed in Paris for three weeks, then he spent the summer at Borre and returned to Oslo to begin three of his major art works. That was the time when his works were beginning to become more widely known.
In 1886, Munch painted the first version of his painting The Sick Child. In the painting Munch expressed his feelings of the tragic death of his mother and sister, which were rather haunting to him at the time.
