The Lost World 2

The lost world was written to entice the minds of nonbelievers. Michael Crichton the author shows what could happen if science was to progress to such a high height. A few scientists go looking for an island where supposedly these are live dinosaurs. Once on the island the adventurers find out that they are truly in for adventure of a lifetime. In the book some of the dinosaurs can be gentle while other are ferocious killers. Ian Malcom, Dr Levine and Arby the boy genius are the main characters of the story.

Dr. Levine is a wealthy scientist who goes around the world looking at bones and having adventures. Furthermore, Levine who was speaking to Malcolm says, "Would you be interested in helping me"(13). When he says this he is referring to helping with the trip to an island. Through the entire novel Levine is always trying to get people to do what he wants. In addition, to trying to control other people he has to be the man in charge. Also when Malcolm brings a dinosaur to the trailer Levine says "I'll get right to the point. Bringing the baby to the trailer was a mistake. It's asking for trouble." (261). Following these words the two T-rexes attacked the trailer. This is when Ian gets one of his wounds. Levine is an adventure character who enjoys learning about extinct animals.
