The Pianist
The Pianist is a movie based on the life of Wladyslaw Szpilman. In the beginning of the Pianist, we see young Wladyslaw playing his piano, on a radio station, when suddenly, the sound of bombs dominate the scene. The bombings get closer, but young Wladyslaw continues to play, despite the warning signs given to him by the radio station manager. He does not stop playing until the windows of the radio station shatter, an after effect of the bomb. Wladyslaw returns home from the bombing site, in order to discover that his family was making plans to flee away from the grip of the Nazis. Little did they know that the trouble was only beginning for their family. When the SS officers enter into Warsaw, they set rules for the Jews. Wladyslaw falls in love with a German woman, and in one of their conversations, they talk about how disgraceful the new rules are towards the Jewish. They wish to go somewhere they could enjoy, but Wladyslaw tells her that Jews are not allowed to enter German shops, sit on German benches, and even walk in German parks. In the scene, when the Jewish are rounded up, before being taken to the extermination camps, we see a woman moaning endlessly. Apparently, she had been hiding with her baby, away from the Nazis.
