* Should people in full-time employment be allowed to adopt children?

* Is it compulsory that the government carry out checks (e.g. CRB) on individuals who want to adopt?

* Should same sex couples be allowed to adopt children?

* Should individual's religious, beliefs/cultural background be a barrier to adopting a child?

It could be said that the lack of adoption groups or society around the area made the people have little or no knowledge about the legislation on the adoption of children. But if these questions were put forward to people in the social work practise the result would have been different because they are familiar with the problems that are inherent in the adoption legislation and ultimately will have suggestions to improve the legislation. So it is important that the public be made aware of the positive work that the social worker is doing and not the media negative report. The reform programme objectives are to make adoption agencies place children early with stable loving families, and should be of best interests.
