During this period, she was still a naïve and innocent little girl. She did not fully understand the difference between genders yet, although she already accepted that injustice and inequality that accompany this stereotyped idea. Investigation was the only method for her to learn about her surroundings. Based on what she had seen, she began to understand the ideas of “inside” and “outside” for herself. Prior to developing into a young woman, the narrator exhibited many “non-girly” traits through her behaviours to keep herself “outside”.
