In 1884, Nicholas Alexandrovich Romanov, met his future wife, Alexandra Victoria Helena Louise Beatrice, Princess of Hesse. On April 20,1894, they were married. During that same year Nicholas took the throne because of his father's death and became the emperor of Russia. He was only 26.
Alexandra and Nicholas lived happily together. They had something that not every royal couple had, love. I am impassioned by the way the books describe their daily life. As a Russian citizen I have to admit that many Russians do believe in these people who supposedly have healing powers and can treat any disease with out surgical invasions. This faith is so strong that it can become a problem. Sometimes people chose magicians over the real physicians. Alexandra believed that one of these people, with powers like that, could help them. They invited a priest who was popular by for healing powers. The priest promised that pregnant Alexandra would give birth to a boy. The priest, however, turned out to be a charlatan, because on June 5th of 1901 Grand-Duchess Anastasia was born.
