The Shocks Of European Colonization



From 1492 to 1608, a new era, called "The age of discovery," had
evolved into a full blown conquest for the unknown. Explorers explored the
unknown in the uncharted sea with their crew and boats in search for the
unknown. This innocent quest for the unknown grew fatal when greed
interceded in their discoveries. During this age of discovery, Europeans
invaded the "New World," cruelly enforced it's culture upon the Indian
culture and used Africans rudely and injustly in slave trading.

When Christopher Columbus discovered the new world, little did he know
that he would begin an eternal deterioration to the Indian culture. Indians
had an extremely rich culture because of being native ...

The Africans brought over from Africa did not do so great either.
Portuguese pioneered the market for African slave trade and Africans have
suffered ever since. Due to an inadequate immune system, many Africans
were killed. By 1619, the first africans stepped foot on America. By 1672,
slave trading had gone out of control. Merchants captured 200 or more
Africans, hauled them on ships, and packed them in like sardines to ship to
the Americas where they would be auctioned off then forced to a life of
being a slave. In America, they had no legal rights because they were
considered property.
