In our society today everybody has their own opinion and their own definition of an educated person. Who would we call educated in our society? The graduates and successful or the humble and intelligent? What are the qualities in an educated person? Socrates’ definition is someone who uses their intelligence wisely and someone who doesn’t take their success over the edge, as well as those who keep their pleasure under control.

won nature and intelligence from birth. Mother Theresa’s education was her teachings. She was wise, her character helped many, and she sacrificed her life for others. The ways Mother Theresa sacrificed her life was by not getting married and giving up almost everything to help the poor. Her humbleness and generosity in taking care of others speaks out for her education. With all she has done she never had arrogance or was spoiled by herself. As Socrates says, “Those who hold their pleasure always under control and are not duly overcome by their misfortunes, bearing up under them bravely and in a manner worthy of out common nature.” With the helpings, teachings, the way she cared and loved people, Mother Theresa fits into the words that are being said in this quote by Socrates.
